What aftercare should I follow after having Hair Loss Treatment?
In order to achieve optimum results from your Hair Loss Treatment, it is advisable to follow our aftercare advice.
Following Hair Loss Treatment;
- Wash treatment area with tepid water a few hours following treatment to remove all serum and other debris, such as dried blood
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 1-2 weeks following treatment and apply sun protection (at least SPF30)
- Wash treatment area with a gentle shampoo and tepid water for 48 hours following treatment, and to dry your hair gently
- If using hair loss treatment, such as Minoxidil, these can be used post treatment
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 1-2 weeks following treatment
Are there any individuals who should not have Hair Loss Treatment?
Despite Hair Loss Treatment being proven as a safe treatment, it is contraindicated in some individuals.
You should not consider having Hair Loss Treatment if:
- You are prone to keloids
- You suffer from a blood disorder where your body does not possess the ability to platelets to stop bruising and bleeding
- You are under medical care for high blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes
- You suffer from a compromised immune system
- You suffer from a skin disease
- You are taking anticoagulant medication
- You have a history of allergies
- You suffer from scleroderma
- You suffer from a collagen vascular disease
- You suffer from cardiac abnormalities
- You have an active bacterial or fungal infection
- You have scars less than 6 months old
Are there any adverse effects that I should know about?
Hair Loss Treatment is a safe and effective procedure. Adverse effects from this procedure are rare and often preventable.
Adverse effects include:
- Systemic hypersensitivity
- Infection
- Scarring
- Skin and tissue necrosis
- Hyperpigmentation (usually fades in 6 months, though in rare cases can be permanent)
- Hypopigmentation (usually fades in 6 months, though in rare cases can be permanent)
